Today I’m talking about learning lessons from the everyday things around us, and how we can approach problems differently to radically change our lives. I want to share a recent client success story that really epitomizes what a different perspective can do and how you can approach problems in a similar way.

Being willing to accept new ideas and advice can give you a stroke of imagination that can revolutionize the way you think about your problems.

On today’s show, I’m talking about why you need to take back your own validation and start to focus on liking yourself before making others like a version of you that isn’t true.

If you spend all your time trying to get people to like you, you aren’t going to like yourself nearly enough, which doesn’t serve you in the long run.

Join me in learning how you can choose what you like about yourself and how you can be more authentic and prouder of who you are.

Today, we’re talking about why comparing yourself to characters on television is so easy, yet so paralyzing for accepting your true life. While it can be a fun pastime, getting too invested can be bad for your self-image.

By watching and comparing our lives to fictional ones, we create beliefs that have no real basis in reality.

Tune in and let’s think about how we can enjoy stories without undermining our own ability to live imperfect lives!

Today, we’re talking about cutting out the idea of “selfish” and replacing it with self-care and boundaries. By establishing healthy boundaries, we can set the terms of our emotional engagement.

When you start to take care of yourself, you have so much more capacity and resilience to walk with and support other people in your life.

Humans are hard-wired to create and tell stories; it’s how we see and make sense of the world. However, not every story is productive.

It is important to ask, “What do I tell myself?” and “How do I share my life story?”

It takes a lot of work to understand where these beliefs come from, but it is so important to do. When we recognize the unconscious stories we have about ourselves, we can choose to reframe them to become intentional statements of purpose.

I changed my story about money by learning how to manage my mindset.

In this episode, I'm sharing my story about money, shame, and how I realized that money was just a neutral - not good, or bad, or straight-up evil. I'm talking about why your relationship with yourself is the core of your relationship to money, how we pick up ideas from society that we don't really believe, and how to rehabilitate your relationship with money.

Success is built on a pile of failures. You've got to fail - a lot - and keep learning, growing, and challenging yourself if you really want to feel successful. This can apply to any part of your life, including work, home, and money.

Failure is an integral part of success, and it makes the moment you achieve your goal even sweeter. But you have to learn how to fail with curiosity and a growth mindset, rather than beat yourself up about it.

For this episode, I'm talking all about success, how to define it for yourself, and how to shut out all the noise about what you "should" do if you want to be "successful".

Being a people pleaser or an approval whore means we are selling ourselves out in order to gain someone else's approval. We act in a way that's not in alignment with who we are or who we want to be.

I talk about the eight steps you can take to stop approval whoring (or approval whore recovery, as I like to call it). The keys to this process include accepting the fact that you're selling yourself out to gain approval, not judging yourself for this behavior, and slowing down the process of seeking acceptance when you feel shame.

Choosing your words carefully allows you to take back control over how you define your emotions + beliefs. Instead of being dictated by negative language, consciously using positive words to describe yourself + your boundaries can help you reframe difficult situations.

Today, I share how my clients and I have worked on using more empowering language to reframe issues that range from work conflicts, familial boundaries, and self-perception.

On this episode, I'm talking about two types of focus - soft focus and hard focus - and what they look + feel like.

Soft focus feels like flow, play, and learning. Hard focus feels like forcing it, gritting your teeth, and telling yourself you HAVE to get this thing done - or you're a failure.

Listen in to this episode as I describe my own experience with soft and hard focus and how I'm learning to apply this lens across my life.

2019 has arrived, and with it, another opportunity to enjoy life, grow, and focus on the future.

One of my anchoring quotes for this year comes from Carl Jung: "I am not what happened to me, I get to choose who I become."

That might be hard to believe for those of us who constantly focus on the past, but it's true: Your past doesn't have to define your future. By drawing on courage, vulnerability, and your resilience, you can become whoever you want to be.
