You want to help others. You want to make the world a better place. But where do you start? To make your service efforts sustainable you should look for things that fit into your life, that don't drain you, and that aren't attached to a story of what you should be doing. And be careful not to shy away from the acts of service that you could be doing because you don’t think they are big enough, sexy enough, or exciting enough.

I’m exploring invitations and obligations from the point of view of the giver and receiver and highlighting how implied messages of obligation could be showing up in your life. The only thing we have control over is the narrative we tell ourselves, so I’m teaching you how to get clear on what works for you and stop making other people responsible for your emotional wellbeing.

We tend to go inside of us to make sense of it rather than viewing things objectively and staying in the moment and staying closer to reality. My guest, Renee, offers us a valuable piece of insight from her friend who says, “reality is so much kinder than what we think reality is.”

Compartmentalizing is a defense mechanism where we suppress our thoughts and emotions. But over time, this armor becomes heavy and everything we bury beneath builds up and overflows. My friend, there is a better way to live. I'm showing you how to give yourself time and patience to cultivate a feelings system and how to give yourself the permission and space to feel all the feelings and thrive in your life.
